System requirements
You must check whether your system meets the hardware, software, and operating system requirements to install the HCL Local License Server (LLS) product.
Hardware requirements
You must ensure that the system where you want to host LLS meets the following hardware
requirements:
| Hardware | Minimum requirement |
|---|---|
| Disk space | 256 GB |
| RAM | 8 GB |
| Processor | 2 GHz - 2 Cores |
Software requirements
If OpenSSL is not already installed, you can download and install OpenSSL 3.x or a higher
version on your host machine. You must set the PATH environment variable to include the
installation path of OpenSSL.
Important:
- OpenSSL is required if you are generating a self-signed TLS certificate as part of the LLS installation process.
- OpenSSL is required if you plan to use a third-party TLS certificate with encrypted tls key file.
- Connect with your local IT to get the right version of OpenSSL without any vulnerabilities.
- You can ignore OpenSSL requirement, if you plan to use a third-party TLS certificate without encrypted tls key file.
Note:
If OpenSSL cannot be installed on the target machine where LLS is to
be installed, due to policy or security restrictions, you may generate a self-signed certificate
on a different system where OpenSSL is available. Once generated, the certificate and key files
can be securely transferred and used during the LLS installation process. There is no
requirement for the certificate to be created on the same machine as the LLS installation, as
long as the certificate parameters are correctly defined.
Operating systems
LLS supports installation on the following operating systems:
| Operating system | CPU Architecture | Versions |
|---|---|---|
| Windows | 64-bit | Windows Server 2016 |
| Windows Server 2019 | ||
