Configuring HCL Local License Server

You can configure HCL Local License Server (LLS) to edit the TLS certificate, port, and license file information by using the update program.

About this task

Configuration of LLS is optional and you must configure only when you need to modify the TLS certificate, port, and license file information.

Procedure

  1. Go to the installation directory where the update program is located.
  2. From the command-line, run the update program:
    • On Windows, run the update.bat file as an administrator.
    • On Linux, enter the following commands with root privileges:
      chmod +x update.sh
      ./update.sh
  3. Perform any of the following actions:
    • Press 1 to update the license file path containing the valid fingerprint generated from the My HCLSoftware portal.

The license file is copied to the installed location.

    • Press 2 to update the TLS certificate information.

Provide the path to a new valid self-signed or a third-party signed TLS certificate.

The system copies all new certificates to the installed location.

    • Press 3 to update the port number.
  4. Press 5 to update and quit the process.

The system updates the information and restarts the existing LLS service.

    A confirmation message is displayed.
    Service started successfully.
Note: Ignore the following warning message when the port number is updated:
Warning: Fingerprint mismatch detected. Expected XXXX, but received XXXX. Please verify the application port number or license file.
  5. Press any key to exit.

You have configured LLS with the new updates.
