Setting up a registration profile in AdminCentral

One of the first tasks in using the AdminCentral app is to create a Notes user registration profile that streamlines the various choices that an experienced Domino administrator has to make when registering Notes users.

Note: Starting in Domino 14.5, if there are custom password policy settings assigned to the user's policy, AdminCentral will generate passwords as part of user registration.

Registration profiles can be created and saved in AdminCentral by clicking the settings icon and then clicking the Create Profile button. You need to have the ProfileAdmin role to see this option.

If there are multiple Organization and Organizational Unit certifiers in your Domino Domain that have been migrated into the Domino certification authority, create one registration profile per certifier. After one registration profile is created, you can click Copy into new profile to easily create profiles for other certifiers.

When you create a new profile, or copy into a new profile, the following tabbed form is displayed:

All of the fields on the form's tabs are similar to the options for user registration that are available in the full Domino Administrator client. The following sections show examples of filled-in fields on the tabs in a registration profile named "14regprof1" where the current default profile is "Redwood."

As an administrator, you can enter email addresses for up to three persons, selectable from Domino Directory, to send a notification email containing users' registration info. You can also customize this email notification with header/footer information that contains any relevant organization-specific information to be sent along with the user registration information.

Note: You should not use groups. Also, all of the recipients must have Notes certificates because the mail is encrypted with Notes encryption.
When the user registration request is completed, the administrator receives an email notification similar to the following one:Email received via notification of user registration upon request completion
Note: The AdminCentral thread on the server generates a strong password based on the specified Security Policy settings.
