Creating mail policy settings for Verse users

HCL Domino® administrators can use a number of mail policy settings for Verse users.

About this task

Although there are other mail policy settings that can be created for HCL Notes® users, the settings here are applicable to Verse mail, and the descriptions in the following table describe how these settings affect HCL Verse® users.

Procedure

  1. Make sure that you have Editor access to the Domino® Directory and one of these roles:
    • PolicyCreator role to create a settings document
    • PolicyModifier role to modify a settings document
  2. From the Domino® Administrator, select the People & Groups tab, and then open the Settings view.
  3. Click Add Settings, and then choose Mail.
  4. On the tabs listed in the following tables, complete these fields:
    Table 1. Mail > Message Recall tab
    Setting Description
    Other users are allowed to recall messages they sent to this user Controls the Verse Mail setting Allow others to recall mail sent to you.
    Allow recall of messages with unread status This setting is used server-side.
    Do not allow recall of messages older than This setting is used server-side.

    Setting Description
    Duration of meetings and appointments (in minutes) Controls the Verse Calendar setting Default duration for new events.

    Start of the work day Controls the Verse Calendar setting My work day is.
    End of the work day Controls the Verse Calendar setting My work day is.

    Process canceled meetings automatically Controls the Verse Calendar setting Automatically process cancellation notices.

    Setting Description
    Display the following meeting notices in user's Inbox Controls the Verse Calendar setting Types of meeting notices to show in your Inbox.
    Remove meeting notices from user's Inbox after user has processed them Controls the Verse Calendar setting Remove meeting invitations from your Inbox after you have responded to them.
    Don't display calendar documents in the All Documents Mail view Controls the Verse Calendar setting Don't display new calendar entries and notices in the All Documents view of Mail.
    Don't display Meeting invitations in the Sent mail view Controls the Verse Calendar setting Don't display new meeting invitations in the Sent view of Mail.
    Automatically process meeting updates and apply changes to meetings Controls the Verse Calendar setting Automatically process meeting information updates.

    Setting Description
    Default alarm settings when creating a new entry. How far in advance: Appointments/Meetings Controls the time option in the Verse setting Display alarm notifications.

    Setting Description
    Enable automatic responses to meeting invitations Verse does not yet have a comparable setting in Verse Settings, but this setting is used server-side.
    When a meeting invitation is received from anyone Verse does not yet have a comparable setting in Verse Settings, but this setting is used server-side.

    Access to your Schedule:Who is allowed to see it? Verse does not yet have a comparable setting in Verse Settings, but this information is applied when using Find a Time.

    Do not include the subject of a calendar entry when detailed information is made available Verse does not yet have a comparable setting in Verse Settings, but this information is applied when using Find a Time.
