Renaming an iNotes® user
You rename an HCL iNotes® user who has an iNotes® ID and an HCL Notes® certified public key located in their person document in the Domino® Directory the same way you rename a Notes® user.
About this task
In iNotes®, however, after a rename has been initiated, users must access their Notes® IDs to complete the process. Depending on whether the user's mail file has an imported copy of their Notes® ID, users can do one of two things to access their Notes® ID, which will then complete the rename process:
- User mail file has an imported copy of a Notes® ID -- If the user's iNotes® mail file contains an imported copy of their Notes® ID, the user can either decrypt an encrypted message, or send an encrypted message to complete the rename process.
- User mail file does not have an imported copy of a Notes® ID -- If the user's iNotes® mail file does not contain an imported copy of their Notes® ID, the user can either import one, which is required for using iNotes® secure mail features, or the user can access the Notes® ID using an Notes® client.
