Use the Symphony™ Settings
document to define whether users can use IBM® Lotus® Symphony and to designate which files and
templates they can use. Symphony policy
settings are not supported for IBM Notes® 9.0 Social
Edition. However, you can create Symphony settings
for users who have versions of IBM Lotus Notes® prior to 9.0.
Before you begin
Make sure that you have Editor access to the IBM Lotus Domino® Directory and one of these
roles:
- PolicyCreator role to create a settings document
- PolicyModifier role to modify a settings document
About this task
Lotus Symphony consists of the Lotus Symphony Presentations editor, Lotus Symphony Documents
word processing editor, and Lotus Symphony Spreadsheets editor.
These tools enable users to create presentations, rich text documents,
and spreadsheets using the OpenDocument Format (ODF). Import and export
filters support the Microsoft™
Office and OpenDocument (ODF) formats.
Users can optionally
install the Symphony editors
during Notes installation.
They can open the editors using the Symphony shortcuts
on their desktop or by opening an ODF format file.
Note: Symphony policy settings are
not supported by IBM Lotus iNotes®.
Procedure
- From the Domino Administrator,
select the People & Groups tab, and then
open the Settings view.
- Click Add Settings and then choose Symphony
Settings.
- On the Basics tab, complete these
fields, and then click Save and Close.
