Introduction to the Lotus® Connector for OLE DB
This chapter provides information about the Lotus® Connector for OLE DB. It contains information about creating Microsoft™ SQL server connections. The Lotus Connector for OLE DB can be used with IBM® Lotus Enterprise Integrator® for Domino® (LEI), Domino Enterprise Connection Services (DECS), and Lotus Connector LotusScript® Extensions (LSX).

      - Connector for OLE DB Operational Considerations
        Below are some important considerations when using the Connector for OLE DB with the Microsoft™ SQL server:
      - Calling SQL Server Stored Procedures
        Wherever procedures are allowed, you can use a Microsoft™ SQL server stored procedure such as the destination of a Direct Transfer or within an LC LSX script. The stored procedure being called must have its parameters set up correctly for the call.
      - Using Stored Procedures to Approximate Output Parameters
        While the Lotus® Connector for OLE DB does not support output parameters, stored procedures can be used to generate a result set approximating output parameter functionality. This can be an effective way of accessing database-generated information when inserting or updating records. However, the Lotus Connector for OLE DB can only retrieve one result set from a stored procedure and it is possible for many result sets to be generated.

Introduction to the Lotus® Connector for OLE DB

This chapter provides information about the Lotus® Connector for OLE DB. It contains information about creating Microsoft™ SQL server connections. The Lotus® Connector for OLE DB can be used with IBM® Lotus Enterprise Integrator® for Domino® (LEI), Domino® Enterprise Connection Services (DECS), and Lotus® Connector LotusScript® Extensions (LSX).

Use the Lotus® Connector for OLE DB to connect to a Microsoft™ SQL server database. Since Microsoft™ only provides the OLE DB technology on Windows™ platforms, use the ODBC Connector to connect to SQL server databases when LEI is installed on non-Windows platforms.

The Lotus® Connector for OLE DB can be used with SQL server 2000 and 2005.
