Connectors

Accessing external databases through LS:DO
Developers are advised not to use LS:DO. Developers should use the Connector LSX for (LCLSX) when accessing external data sources.

    LotusScript® Extensions for Connectors (LC LSX) enhances the power of Notes® by extending its scripting to data outside of Notes through the use of Connectors. The programming model is independent of the individual connector.         Read-write. Indicates whether a result set is read-only. Can be set to True to prevent updates.

        Examples: FirstRow method
        This agent accesses all rows of a result set twice starting from the first row. The first time you do not explicitly set FirstRow -- the first NextRow following an Execute implicitly sets FirstRow. The second time, you must explicitly set FirstRow and process the first row outside the loop that follows.
      - GetError (ODBCResultSet - LotusScript)
        Returns the latest error code for an ODBC object.
      - GetErrorMessage (ODBCResultSet - LotusScript)
        Returns the short error message text associated with an error code.
      - GetExtendedErrorMessage (ODBCResultSet - LotusScript)
        Returns the long, descriptive error message text associated with an error code.
      - GetParameter (ODBCResultSet - LotusScript)
        Returns the last value set for the specified parameter.
      - GetParameterName (ODBCResultSet - LotusScript)
        Retrieves a parameter name.
      - GetRowStatus (ODBCResultSet - LotusScript)
        Returns the alteration status of the current row.

        Retrieves the value of the column referenced by column_id%, and copies the results to the variable field.
      - HasRowChanged (ODBCResultSet - LotusScript)
        Indicates whether values in the current row have changed in the data source; that is, indicates whether values differ from what was fetched into the result set.

        Indicates whether the cursor position is at the beginning of the result set.

        Indicates whether the cursor position is at the end of the result set.

FirstRow (ODBCResultSet - LotusScript)

Sets the current row to the first row in a result set. Equivalent to setting CurrentRow to 1.

Return value

status

Boolean. Returns True if successful; otherwise, returns False, indicating an error.

Usage

FirstRow is useful to prepare for another pass through the result set, as when using LocateRow interactively.

You may not be able to move to the first row unless you enabled caching of all rows. If FirstRow fails, use GetError to examine the meaning.

"Invalid row number" can occur if the result set has 0 rows.
