Using HCL Docs
HCL Connections™ Docs is a new office productivity suite for working on documents, spreadsheets and presentations together. It provides real-time co-editing, allowing users to work on documents individually or collaboratively. Comment on a document, or even participate in a discussion. All this without the need of desktop software.
Working with presentations
Create high impact, professional presentations. Or, you can upload existing presentations from your computer to HCL Docs Cloud for online editing. You can edit presentations with your colleagues in real-time and collaborate with others through comments and discussions.

You can collaborate on a presentation in real time with others as a team. You can co-edit with other editors in real time, and create comments and discussions.
Collaborating by using comments in presentations
When you collaborate with multiple editors on a presentation, it is convenient to add comments. It helps you to communicate with editors who are working at different times.
Searching comments in presentations
You can quickly find specific comments by searching for keywords in the comments section of the collaboration sidebar.

Welcome to the HCL Connections Docs 2.0.1 documentation, where you can find information about HCL Docs 2.0.1. HCL Docs is a collaborative productivity suite that enables you to work on documents, spreadsheets and presentations together in the cloud.

  HCL Connections™ Docs is a new office productivity suite for working on documents, spreadsheets and presentations together. It provides real-time co-editing, allowing users to work on documents individually or collaboratively. Comment on a document, or even participate in a discussion. All this without the need of desktop software.

  - Publishing a version of a file
    In order for readers to see a draft created in HCL Connections Docs, or edits made in Docs, a new version of the file must be published. As of August 2015, if a file is being created or edited in Docs for the first time, publishing is set to occur automatically. If a file was previously created or edited in Docs, you must either enable the Publish Automatically command in that file, or publish each new version manually.
  - What if I have a file conflict?
    A person can decide to upload a new version of a file while another person is editing the file online or has saved an online file that is not yet published. The new uploaded version is stored in Files as its own version number, and you are warned of the conflict the next time you try to edit the file from the Files list.
  - Reverting to last version
    When you are editing in HCL Connections™ Docs, if you are not satisfied with the current version of your document, you can revert to the last version that was published. You can choose to save or discard your current edits before you revert to the last version of a document.
  - Viewing a file by using the viewer
    You can view an uploaded document, spreadsheet, presentation, or PDF file while you are working in Files.

    Accessibility features assist users who have a disability, such as restricted mobility or limited vision, to use information technology content successfully.

        About comments in presentations
        When you have to work on a presentation together but at different times, comments allow conversations to take place. Comments help you to track the reviewing status and responses from others.
        Creating and acting on comments in presentations
        When you edit or review a presentation, you can create comments for the slide, or graphics, images, and text boxes on a slide. All comments and responses for the presentation are displayed on in the collaboration sidebar. You can take actions on comments, such as reply, resolve, delete, and so on.
        Viewing comments in presentations
        You can filter and view all comments and responses in your presentation in the collaboration sidebar.
        Searching comments in presentations
        You can quickly find specific comments by searching for keywords in the comments section of the collaboration sidebar.
    - Formatting slides
      In HCL Connections™ Docs, many formatting functions are provided. You can change fonts, move objects on a slide, add numbers or bullets to text, set the slide layout, or change master style.
    - Spell-checking presentations
      You can have HCL Connections™ Docs check the spelling in different languages while you type, and you can also check the spelling of the entire presentation when you finish it.
    - Printing presentations
      The Print command in a presentation opens a new browser window from which you can choose layout options.
    - Working with images in presentations
      Graphics are useful to get your information across. You can insert graphics from a gallery, or files from your computer, or the Internet. You can also edit the graphics, such as zooming in, zooming out, dragging to any position in a slide, and so on.
    - Working with slides
      Playing a slide show is the way to give a presentation. And you can apply slide transition effects in a presentation.
    - Working with tables in presentations
      You can create a table, insert, delete and resize columns. You can set various properties for an entire table or for one or more cells.

      In speaker notes view, you can edit speaker notes for slides in the presentation and set text properties.

Searching comments in presentations

You can quickly find specific comments by searching for keywords in the comments section of the collaboration sidebar.

Procedure

Locate the comments section of the sidebar. If the sidebar is not displayed by default, click the sidebar icon to open the sidebar.
Click the search icon .
The search bar appears.
Enter keywords in the search bar and press Enter on the keyboard.
To begin another search, click Clear and enter new keywords.
To exit the search, click the Close Search icon .
