Installing DevOps Test Virtualization Control Panel by using IBM® Installation Manager
You can use IBM® Installation Manager to install HCL DevOps Test Virtualization Control Panel (Test Virtualization Control Panel) from the HCL DevOps Test Workbench (Test Workbench), HCL DevOps Test Virtualization (Test Virtualization), or HCL DevOps Test Integrations and APIs (Test Integrations and APIs) package.
Before you begin
- Reviewed the Installation considerations for DevOps Test Virtualization Control Panel.
- Downloaded the software package to your computer.
Procedure

Open IBM® Installation
Manager on your
computer.
The IBM® Installation Manager dialog is displayed.
- Add repositories to point to the location of the extracted installation files in Installation Manager by clicking .
- Click Apply and then OK for Installation Manager to use the selected repository.

Click Install to start the installation.
The IBM® Installation Manager install packages dialog is displayed.

Clear or retain the products selected for installation. Ensure that you select the
DevOps Test Virtualization Control Panel product to be
installed.
If you already installed an earlier version of the product, you are prompted about the existing installation and you need to opt if you want them to be upgraded to the version you downloaded. Updates that have dependencies are automatically selected and cleared together.
To view all updates that are found for the available packages, select Show all versions and click Check for Other Versions, Fixes, and Extensions. You require your HCL® License & Delivery portal login credentials to view and install any newer packages or updates to the selected version of the software.
- Click Next.
- Read the license agreement for DevOps Test Virtualization Control Panel, and then click I accept the terms in the license agreement.
- Click Next.

Select the package group into which DevOps Test Virtualization Control Panel is to be installed
and either retain the default location or enter the location where the installation files
are created.
The shared resources directory is the location to which installation artifacts that can be used by one or more package groups are written. To change the shared resources directory, uninstall all the installed packages and then reinstall them in to the new directory location.
- Click Next.
- Select the translation packages to install, and then click Next.

On the Features page, select DevOps Test Virtualization Control Panel and the
HTTP/TCP Proxy features to install. To install DevOps Test Virtualization Control Panel or HTTP/TCP proxy as
a service and start it whenever the computer boots, select the options Install
as Service and select the Start on boot option.
Note: To set up multiple proxies or to install the proxy behind a certain firewall so that the software under test can connect to it, install the HTTP/TCP component on a computer that is different from the location where you install DevOps Test Virtualization Control Panel. You must also run the installer on that computer and select only the HTTP/TCP proxy component.

If you are installing DevOps Test Virtualization Control Panel, enter the following information in the DevOps Test Virtualization Control Panel
Configuration Panel, and then click
Next.

If you are installing only the HTTP/TCP component, the
Register with DevOps Test Virtualization Control Panel page is displayed. To
register Test Integrations and APIs proxy with Test Virtualization Control Panel:

On the Summary page, review your choices before you install the
product package and click Install.
A progress indicator shows the percentage of the installation that is completed. When the installation process is complete, a confirmation message is displayed.

Click View log file to open the
installation log file for the current session in a new window. You must close the
Installation Log window to continue.
Alternatively, in Installation Manager, go to to verify if the installation was successful.
- Click Finish to start Test Virtualization Control Panel or return to IBM® Installation Manager.
