Upgrading DevOps Test Integrations and APIs Agent
In general, you can upgrade from earlier versions of HCL DevOps Test Integrations and APIs Agent (Test Integrations and APIs Agent) to the most recent version without having to uninstall the software. Use the Installation Manager Update option to upgrade the software.

Administrator Guide

- Installation of DevOps Test Integrations and APIs Agent
  You can find information about installing HCL DevOps Test Integrations and APIs Agent (Test Integrations and APIs Agent) from the HCL DevOps Test Workbench (Test Workbench), HCL DevOps Test Virtualization (Test Virtualization), or HCL DevOps Test Integrations and APIs (Test Integrations and APIs) package.
- Installation of DevOps Test Virtualization Control Panel
  You can find information about installing HCL DevOps Test Virtualization Control Panel (Test Virtualization Control Panel) from the HCL DevOps Test Workbench (Test Workbench), HCL DevOps Test Virtualization (Test Virtualization), or HCL DevOps Test Integrations and APIs (Test Integrations and APIs) package.
- Uninstalling the product software

Upgrading DevOps Test Integrations and APIs Agent

In general, you can upgrade from earlier versions of HCL DevOps Test Integrations and APIs Agent (Test Integrations and APIs Agent) to the most recent version without having to uninstall the software. Use the Installation Manager Update option to upgrade the software.

The procedure for upgrading the package is the same as installing, except that in Installation Manager, you choose Update instead of Install.

Before upgrading

Before you upgrade Test Integrations and APIs Agent, you must stop the service.

Note: When you use the stand-alone installer, you cannot directly upgrade Test Integrations and APIs Agent from any of the earlier versions to the latest version. You must uninstall the existing version and then install the latest version.

Preserving the configuration file

Upgrading the Test Virtualization or Test Integrations and APIs Agent software or uninstalling an older version to move to a newer version (when the upgrade is not applicable) overwrites the existing Agent.config file. If there are settings in the Agent.config file that must be preserved, for example, Test Virtualization Control Panel domains and environments settings, copy the existing Agent.config file to a temporary location before upgrading. After the upgrade or uninstallation of the software has completed, overwrite the new Agent.config file with the old Agent.config file.
