Creating a properties file on macOS
To install HCL DevOps Test UI (Test UI) in the silent mode, you must first create a properties file that contains the data required to install the product. Alternatively, you can generate the properties file by using the stand-alone installer.
About this task
You can create the properties file by using one of the following methods:
Procedure
-
Download the product installer from the HCL®
License & Delivery portal.
You must download the appropriate product variant, version, and architecture based on your requirements.
Note: When you want to install both Test UI and Test Performance on your computer, you can install them by using a single shell-shared package. The single shell-shared DevOps-Test-UI-and-Performance package for the 64-bit platform is available in the HCL® License & Delivery portal. On the 32-bit platform, you must use separate packages of Test UI and Test Performance to install them in the shell-shared mode by using Installation Manager. See Shell sharing with Test Performance.
When you want to install Test Performance Agent in the shell-shared mode with Test UI, you must first install Test UI, and then install Test Performance Agent.
- Open the terminal and log in as an administrator.
-
Run the following command to change the directory to a location where you
downloaded the installer file:
cd <directory path>
For example, cd /Users/username/Downloads
-
Run the following command to generate the properties file:
<installer_file.app> -r <location of the installer.properties file>
For example, DevOps-Test-UI-MAC-x64-v10.1.0.0.app -r /Users/Applications/HCL/installer.properties
-
Create the properties file by copying the content of the following sample
properties file:
#Host Name # Replay feature output # --------------------- # This file was built by the Replay feature of Installer. # It contains variables that were set by Panels, Consoles or Custom Code. #Destination Folder #------------------ USER_INSTALL_DIR=/Applications/HCL
