Alerts feature
The DevOps Plan Alerts feature is available in EmailPlus package 2.6 and higher and can be used in the Modern Web user interface offered by DevOps Plan.
To use the Alerts feature, it must be enabled and configured from the EmailPlus package. Certain schemas, including the Agile, EssentialSAFe, FullSAFe, and SolutionSAFesSchemas, come with the EmailPlus package already applied to them. The EmailPlus package includes a new Alerts record type. For more information about EmailPlus records, see EmailPlus record types.
The Alerts feature is configured as part of the EmailPlus Configuration and can be found by selecting . Once EmailPlus Configuration is open, there is a new Alerts tab.
Groups and Users who are listed in the Notification Configuration are able to configure and send Alerts.
- Details
- The Details tab includes the following fields:
- Description: describes the alert.
- Headline: the message that displays to the receiver of the alert.
- There is a rich text field that can contain additional information about the alert.
- The alert can be made active or inactive by selecting the Is Active button. When the button is selected, an alert will be processed.
- An alert can also be made inactive by selecting the Is Archived button. This allows a user to keep the alert in place, but keep it inactive if it not currently needed.
- Automation
- The Automation tab is where the alert creator configures the alert.
Currently, the automation tab helps a creator create a query based alert. If a query has hit a
predefined milestone, an alert is sent. For example, if an alert is set to trigger when
sev1 defects > 10, an alert will be sent when severity 1 defects exceed 10. The alert is sent to all users in the "sent to" list. - Recurrence
- The Recurrence tab allows the creator to control when the alert is sent.
Available options are
- Daily: allows a user to define a Start Date and End Date for when the alert is processed. You can also select how often and on what day to send the alert.
- Weekly: allows a user to define a Start Date and End Date for when the alert is processed. You can also select how often the weekly alert will recur and on which day or days.
- Monthly: allows a user to define a Start Date and End Date for when the alert is processed. You can also select which day of the month and frequency for alert to recur. For example, you can set the alert to recur on the 14th day of every 2nd month. You can also set the alert to recur on a X day of every Y month basis. For example, the first Monday of every 10 months.
You can also control the Start Date and the End Date for the alert to be processed and control how often and on what day the alert is processed.
- Sent To
- The Sent To tab is where you can configure the list of groups and users that will receive an alert.
- Status
- The Status tab includes read only information about the alert, such as:
- Creation Time
- Last Notification Time
- Completion Time
- Created By
- Is Complete: this will be marked as completed based on the End Date defined in the Recurrence tab.
- Status notes: information such as "Alert changed to active" or "Alert changed to inactive."
