Vendor database configuration

DevOps Plan schema repositories and user databases are types of databases that are physically managed by a database management system. Depending on your operating system, these management systems might include Microsoft™ SQL Server.

Configuration tasks and restrictions might vary. Review the following sections closely to identify these tasks and restrictions.

When replicating an existing DevOps Plan database set, you must create empty vendor databases at the new site. During the replication process, this empty database is converted to a DevOps Plan database set.

You can use databases from different vendors. For example, you might want to use Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server databases for your schema repository and user databases in the production environment, and a Microsoft Access database for your test database.

Note: For detailed instructions on completing the tasks in the following topics, consult your database software documentation.
