Issues when using Windows Firewall
Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) and other Windows releases include a firewall program and other security measures that can affect IBM® DevOps products as follows:
- HTML with active content
You might receive warnings when using online or extended help.
- Online Help and DevOps product HTML files
on the hard disk of the local machine
When using online help for one of these applications or accessing DevOps product HTML files on the hard disk of the local machine, you might see a warning dialog informing you that the page has been restricted from running active content that might be able to access your computer. When you are prompted to do so, choose to allow the page to access your computer.
This warning dialog box opens the first time you select HTML active content on the local disk. The warning notifies you of the new Information bar (in Internet Explorer, beneath the Address box). By default, Do not show this message again is selected, and this warning is not displayed again. Read the content in the Information bar and click anywhere in the bar to select the option that enables active content. Online help should now open.
- Rational Unified Process and Extended Help
When using Rational Unified Process or Extended Help from one of these applications, you might see a warning dialog informing you that the page has been restricted from running active content that might be able to access your computer. When you are prompted to do so, choose to allow the page to access your computer.
If the correct Java runtime environment (JRE) is not installed on your computer, you might see this message:
JRE required by RUP and Extended Help not found
