Eclipse: Sharing a project

You must move your Eclipse project into your ClearCase® view (share it) before you can add it to source control.

About this task

In this lesson, you will share the Eclipse project you created in a previous lesson. To share the project, you move it into your ClearCase® view.

To share a project:

Procedure

  1. In Eclipse, open the Resource perspective: click Window > Open Perspective > Other, click Resource, and click OK.
  2. In the Project Explorer, right-click your tutorial project and click Team > Share Project.
  3. In the Select a repository type list box of the Share Project window, click IBM® ClearTeam® Explorer and then click Next.
  4. In the Move Project to ClearCase® window, select your tutorial view and click Next.
Note: If you are not connected to the ClearCase® server, click Login, fill in the connection details and click OK. Then, select your tutorial view and click Next.
  5. Select the tutorial VOB and click Finish.
  6. Open the ClearCase® perspective: click Window > Open Perspective > Other, click ClearTeam Explorer, and click OK.
  7. Click the refresh icon (Refresh ) button in the toolbar to display the project that you just moved into your view.

Results

The project is now located in the copy area of your ClearCase® view under the tutorial VOB, but it is available only to you. No one can access your project until you add it to source control.
