View profiles
A DevOps Code ClearCase® view profile encapsulates project configuration information so it can be easily shared by a development team.
A view profile contains the following information:
- A config spec
The view profile config spec is used to initialize new views and configure the views to select the versions that are used by the rest of the development team.
- A list of checkpoints
A checkpoint is a set of versions, identified by a label, that constitute a stable build of the team's project. Checkpoints provide a location from which team members start private branches.
- The VOBs containing project source files
The VOBs listed in the profile are mounted whenever a team member starts a dynamic view associated with the profile. Also, the DevOps Code ClearCase tools for branching and merging use the VOB list to create branch types.
- The administrative VOB for the VOBs in the VOB list
