To start a baselines comparison from the CLI (UNIX system or Linux)

Start the DevOps Code ClearCase® Diff Baselines graphic user interface (GUI) from the command line interface (CLI).

Procedure

  1. At the command prompt, enter cleardiffbl.
    The ClearCase® Diff Baselines window opens. If you start in a view context, in parentheses in the title bar is the view tag.
  2. Do one of the following steps.
    • If you previously ran cleardiffbl on this system, click File > New. The Select Baselines window and the Select Project VOB window open.
    • If this is the first time that ran cleardiffbl on this system, the Select Baselines window and the Select Project VOB window open.
    Proceed to the next step.
  3. In Project VOB, navigate to and click a PVOB; and click OK.
    The Select Project VOB window closes and, in the Select Baselines window, Component fills with the list of components in the selected PVOB.
  4. In Component, navigate to and click a component.
  5. In From Stream, navigate to and click a stream.
    In Baseline, a list of baselines that configure or were created in the selected stream is displayed.
  6. In Baseline, click a baseline and click >>Baseline One; and click a different baseline and click >>Baseline Two. Then click OK to compare the two selected baselines.
    The Select Baselines window closes.

Results

In the ClearCase® Diff Baselines window, the members (if you selected composite baselines), activities, and versions that are unique to the selected baselines are listed in Baseline 1 and Baseline 2.
