Installing ClearTeam® Explorer

Install the ClearTeam® Explorer client using Installation Manager. This version of the client, introduced in ClearCase® version 8.0, can coexist on a system with DevOps Code ClearCase® Remote Client version 7.1.x.

Before you begin

These instructions explain how to install ClearTeam® Explorer separately on a single system with the Installation Manager. You must install and configure the Installation Manager in order to complete the ClearTeam® Explorer installation process.

DevOps Code ClearCase® supports other installation methods that automatically download, install, and configure the Installation Manager for installing ClearCase® components:

Installing from a downloaded electronic image on your workstation
Installing from an electronic image on a shared drive
Installing from a repository on an HTTP or HTTPS web server

Check with your DevOps Code ClearCase® administrator to see whether any of these methods are available.

About this task

In this installation process, you must download the IBM Installation Manager and set the location of the repository that contains the installation files. After these tasks are complete, you complete using the Installation Manager.

Procedure

Ask your DevOps Code ClearCase® Administrator for the location of the ClearTeam® Explorer repository that provides access to the installation files.
To download and install Installation Manager, see technote 609575.
On the Installation Manager download page, review the information about the version your are downloading and access the online product documentation if necessary.
Start Installation Manager (Start > IBM Installation Manager > IBM Installation Manager).
Add the ClearTeam® Explorer repository to the Installation Manager repository list:
1. Click File > Preferences.
2. Click Add Repository and enter the repository location, then click OK.
3. Click OK to exit the Preferences window and return to the Installation Manager Start page.
