Migrating from ClearCase® Remote Client
If you upgraded to ClearCase version 8.x or later from ClearCase version 7.1.x, you must migrate from CM Server to CCRC WAN server and migrate from the DevOps Code ClearCase® Remote client to ClearTeam Explorer.
Migrating from ClearCase® Remote Client to ClearTeam® Explorer
When you upgrade your CM server version 7.1.x to CCRC WAN server version 8.0.1, you must upgrade all CCRC clients version 7.1.x that use that server to client version 8.0 or later. Clients that run earlier versions are not compatible with version 8.x servers, and servers that run earlier versions do not support 8.x clients.

Use IBM® Installation Manager to migrate clients from ClearCase® Remote Client version 7.1.x to ClearTeam Explorer version 8.0.1 or later.

  - Plan your upgrade
    Before you begin upgrading the DevOps Code ClearCase® and DevOps Code ClearCase MultiSite software, learn about the upgrade process, complete any prerequisite tasks, and create an upgrade plan.
  - Upgrade DevOps Code ClearCase® with the Installation Manager
    Use IBM® Installation Manager to upgrade and modify DevOps Code ClearCase® product features in an existing installation.
  - Importing permanent authorized user keys
    Using email, file attachments, or LKAD to import permanent authorized user license keys.
  - Returning or moving license keys
    If you must upgrade your license keys, replace an old license server, or move the license keys to another computer, you must perform a floating or authorized user license key return transaction in License Key Center.

  - Installation Manager install methods
    You can install and manage product installations with Installation Manager by using any of these methods: silently from a response file, from the Linux or UNIX console, or from the Installation Manager wizard.

    Before you install or upgrade DevOps Code ClearCase® web features, install or upgrade to a supported version of IBM® WebSphere Application Server, IBM HTTP Server, and Web Plug-ins for IBM WebSphere.
  - Migrating from ClearCase® Remote Client
    If you upgraded to ClearCase version 8.x or later from ClearCase version 7.1.x, you must migrate from CM Server to CCRC WAN server and migrate from the DevOps Code ClearCase® Remote client to ClearTeam Explorer.
    - Migrating from Change Management (CM) Server to CCRC WAN Server
      When you upgrade from ClearCase® version 7.x to version 8.x or later, migrate the Change Management (CM) Server to the CCRC WAN Server, which replaces the CM Server in ClearCase version 8.0 and later.
    - Migrating from ClearCase® Remote Client to ClearTeam® Explorer
      When you upgrade your CM server version 7.1.x to CCRC WAN server version 8.0.1, you must upgrade all CCRC clients version 7.1.x that use that server to client version 8.0 or later. Clients that run earlier versions are not compatible with version 8.x servers, and servers that run earlier versions do not support 8.x clients.
      - Migrating from ClearCase® Remote Client Standalone
        Use IBM® Installation Manager to migrate clients from ClearCase® Remote Client version 7.1.x to ClearTeam Explorer version 8.0.1 or later.
      - Migrating from ClearCase® Remote Client for Eclipse
        If you are upgrading from ClearCase® version 7.1.x, migrate ClearCase Remote Client installed in an Eclipse IDE to use the ClearTeam Explorer.
      - Migrating from ClearCase® Remote Client Extension
        If you are upgrading from ClearCase® version 7.1.x, migrate from the DevOps Code ClearCase Remote Client Extension to ClearTeam® Explorer Extension, introduced in version 8.0. The ClearCase extension offerings integrate ClearCase features into DevOps Software Delivery Platform products.
  - Integrating DevOps Code ClearCase® with Cadence Virtuoso
    The DevOps Code ClearCase® Cadence Virtuoso Integration is available as a separate extension offering and can be independently installed and uninstalled using IBM Installation Manager. This mechanism allows you to upgrade the integration bits without the need to upgrade the underlying ClearCase.
  - Configure your environment after installation or upgrade
    For some types of DevOps Code ClearCase® and DevOps Code ClearCase MultiSite hosts, some configuration tasks are required after you complete a product installation or upgrade operation.

Migrating from ClearCase® Remote Client Standalone

Use IBM® Installation Manager to migrate clients from ClearCase® Remote Client version 7.1.x to ClearTeam Explorer version 8.0.1 or later.

The ClearTeam® Explorer version 8.0.1 client replaces any previous installation of ClearCase® Remote Client version 7.1.x. It can coexist on a computer with a previous 7.0.x installation.
