Plan your upgrade of DevOps Code ClearCase
Before you begin upgrading the DevOps Code ClearCase® and DevOps Code ClearCase MultiSite software, learn about the upgrade process, complete any prerequisite tasks, and create an upgrade plan.
This information provides a summary of how to prepare for and plan an upgrade for DevOps Code ClearCase and DevOps Code ClearCase MultiSite client and server software packages.
The following lists highlights changes from the previous release. For more
information, see the DevOps Code ClearCase release
notes.
- Added Access Control List option for managing access to VOB objects. This option requires ClearCase VOBs formatted with schema 80, feature level 8.
- The DevOps Code ClearCase MultiSite Global Monitor option is no longer supported. For details, see technote 134399.
- Update Installation Manager to version 1.10 or later. For win_x86_64 and linux_x86_64, Installation Manager 1.10 is required. For AIX, HP-UX, linux_ppc64le, linux_s390x, and Solaris, Installation Manager 1.10 is recommended, although Installation Manager 1.9.x can still be used.
- If you are upgrading ClearCase server features, make sure that you have the required version of IBM® WebSphere Application Server components installed and configured before upgrading ClearCase. See the system requirements for ClearCase to know what version of WebSphere® Application Server components are required.
The following table summarizes the tasks for planning the upgrade and preparing your environment. Complete any prerequisite tasks before you upgrade the DevOps Code ClearCase client and server software.
