Configuring Samba globals for DevOps Code ClearCase®

You can choose ADS (recommended) or USER or DOMAIN for your configuration. While ADS works effectively in a modern domain environment, DOMAIN might still function, provided the domain allows connections from older hosts. USER mode is supported, but it is generally not recommended in a domain environment because keeping domain and Samba user passwords in sync can be difficult. For more information about Samba security options, see the Samba documentation for smbpasswd (with the security set to user). For instructions on joining Samba, see Setting up Samba as a Domain Member. Additionally, see your distribution vendor's supplemental information on setting up Samba, as you might need to use system crypto policies in multi-domain environments. |
