Conversion to Active Directory
As with any enterprise-scale application in a Windows network, DevOps Code ClearCase® is affected when the network is converted from Windows NT domains to Active Directory domains. These topics explain how this conversion affects DevOps Code ClearCase and how to manage users, groups, hosts, and data during and after the conversion.
Domain upgrade scenarios
In a domain upgrade, you convert a Windows NT domain controller to an Active Directory domain controller. During an upgrade, the primary domain controller is unavailable briefly.

About this task

To upgrade a single domain:

Prepare DevOps Code ClearCase hosts as described in Preparing DevOps Code ClearCase hosts.
If a backup domain controller is not online during the upgrade, stop DevOps Code ClearCase on all server hosts to prevent DevOps Code ClearCase operations from being run during the upgrade process.
Use the procedures defined by Microsoft to perform an in-place upgrade of the Windows NT domain to an active directory domain.
After the upgrade of the primary domain controller is complete, shut down and restart all DevOps Code ClearCase hosts.
