Setting preferences for the Mac plug-in
You can view or edit preferences to customize HCL Connections for Mac for your needs.
About this task
Procedure
- Open HCL Connections for Mac by clicking the icon in the Dock or locating and clicking it in the Applications folder of your Finder window.
- Right-click on the HCL Connections icon in the Dock or the menu bar and select Preferences from the menu. The preferences window appears with the Accounts pane displayed.
- Click the Advanced tab to view the advanced preferences.
- Specify file extensions that sync should ignore when changes are made.

Use the options in the Sync Content Visibility section to control the visibility of
new content synced to the server.
- Select the "Always allow…" option if you want allow content to be automatically added to folders visible to everyone in your organization.
- Select the "Always move/remove…" option to automatically remove content from a folder when that folder is moved into a folder with more restrictive visibility.
- Click Enable Logging to view a record
of plug-in activities.
- Locate the log file in /Users/{USER_NAME}/Library/Application Support/com.ibm.AutoSyncMonitor/Logs The file name is Sync <date>.
- Select Collect Debug Data to create a zip file with all logs and other debugging information that can be provided to HCL Support.
- Click Enable Beta Features to access
features that are available for preview but are not yet fully supported.
Note: This feature might be disabled by your administrator.
- Configure a delay at startup and on wake from sleep. During this delay, no network traffic is sent from the plugin. This is useful in certain configurations where a VPN must be started before the plugin can connect. The values are in seconds. These values can also be controlled by admin policies ‘DelayNetworkOnStartup’ and ‘DelayNetworkOnWake’ .
