Option 1: If you have TDI 7.1.1, Fixpack 6 with JRE 1.6 installed (which is
the default version that is installed with Connections 6.0), you can remain on TDI 7.1.1 Fixpack 6. |
Perform the following:
- Upgrade the JRE that is used by SDI from 1.6 to 1.7. Refer to the following Tech Note when
UPGRADING TDI JRE TO 7.0 SR10 FP40 BECAUSE OF MULTIPLE VULNERABILITIES.
- Oracle: Upgrade the JDBC Database Driver to version 7. Refer to Oracle site to download the ojdbc7.jar driver.
- Microsoft SQL: Download the SQL Server JDBC 4.2 driver from the Microsoft™ web
site and follow the instructions to extract the driver files. HCL Connections uses the
sqljdbc41.jar file.
- DB2: For DB2 there is no change required.
- Optional: If you need to populate the Profiles database with people from your company's LDAP,
then you must use the Population Wizard that is packaged with Connections 6.5. Refer to Populating the Profiles database, Using the Profiles population wizard, and Using the Profiles population wizard in silent
mode for additional information.
- To keep the users in LDAP and the Profiles database in sync you must manually download and
install the SDI solution directory tdisol that is packaged with Connections
6.5.
Note: Before downloading and installing the Connections 6.5 tdisol, backup
your current tdisol directory and files. Refer to Manually populating the Profiles database for
additional information.

Option 2: If you have TDI 7.1.1, Fixpack 6 with JRE 1.7 (you have already
upgraded the JRE version used by TDI to 1.7) , you can remain on TDI 7.1.1 Fixpack 6 with JRE 1.7. |

TDI that is being supported by Connections release 6.5. |
Perform the following: Note: SDI 7.2 gets installed with JRE 1.7 as a default.
(JRE 1.8 is not supported at this time, for SDI in Connections)
- Before downloading and installing the Connections 6.5 tdisol, backup your current tdisol
directory and files.
- Uninstall the existing TDI Version 7.1.1. Refer to IBM Security Directory Integrator V7.2 documentation for
additional information.
- Download and install Security Directory Integrator (SDI) v7.2 from IBM as it is not bundled with
or installed as part of Connections 6.5. Refer to IBM Security Directory Integrator Version 7.2 Download
Document for additional information.
- Download and install Fixpack 6 for SDI 7.2. Refer to IBM Tivoli Directory Integrator (TDI) & IBM Security Directory
Integrator (SDI) for additional information.
