      HCL Connections™ is a collaborative tool that makes it easy to connect with others and exchange ideas. Start sharing important information, building a network of useful contacts, and following people that interest you.

    • Home page

      Use the home page as a command center to scan and manage items that need your attention. You can view your most recent project updates, check in on the people you follow, and review your action items all from one place.

    • Profiles

      Use profiles to connect with others, showcase your skills, and find the people you need.

    • Activities

      Use activities to keep a team informed, collect and share project resources, or to assign and track tasks.

    • Files

      Using the Files app, you can upload, organize, share and collaborate on files easily. Files can be shared, tagged, organized in folders, and accessed from other applications, such as Activities and Communities.

      • Uploading a file

        Upload files from your device to share them with people or communities or store them for your own use.

      • Finding files fast

        Quickly find files without searching by using the views and filters in Files.

      • Downloading a file

        You can download a local copy of a file to a specified location so that you can view or edit it offline. To edit the file, it must be one that you own, or one that is shared with you for which you have Editor access.

      • Editing a file locally

        If you have the IBM® Connections Desktop Plug-ins for Microsoft™ Windows™ installed and configured, you can check out a file, edit it locally, and then check it back in. The file you want to edit must be a file that you own or a file that has been shared with you and for which Editor access has been assigned.

      • Viewing a file

        View an uploaded document, spreadsheet, presentation, or PDF file while you are working in Files without downloading the file.

      • Organizing files and folders

        Use folders to organize files. Add files to folders that you have Editor or Owner access to.

      • Drag and drop files

        Move files easily from one location to another by using drag and drop.

      • Organizing, syncing, and editing files in My Drive

        Use My Drive to organize all of your important folders and files, whether you created them or whether they were shared with you. Additionally, if your organization has enabled the sync feature, files you add and edit in My Drive are automatically synchronized so you always have the latest version of the content.

    • Bookmarks

      Use Bookmarks to collect and organize shortcuts to websites.

Collaborating with files

With Files you can collaborate with others on specific files and groups of files or folders.

Using Files, you and others can upload files for central storage and optionally share them with people you designate. Controlling access to files enables you to be specific about who can see and act on files that you share and on files that are shared with you.
