Installing the Textbox.io editor
Ephox Editors for IBM Connections is provided as a packaged set of files ready to deploy as an IBM Connections JavaScript customization.
- Ensure you have downloaded the latest version of the Ephox Editors for IBM Connections and uncompress the Ephox Editors for IBM Connections package.
- Read and follow the Customizing the Ephox editors section before you install any files on the server. This section also includes instructions for role-based deployment. For more information, see Installing Textbox.io Services.
- If you are upgrading from EditLive! for IBM Connections 2.x, you must uninstall this version before proceeding with the upgrade process. Further information can be found in the Version 2.x Upgrade Notes.
- If you are installing Ephox Editors for IBM Connections into a clustered instance of Connections and have not put the customization subdirectory on a shared file system, accessible by all nodes, you need to install Ephox Editors for IBM Connections manually on each node.
The Ephox Editors for IBM Connections integration makes Textbox.io available as the rich text editor within IBM Connections. For more information on the version of Textbox.io packaged with this integration, see the changelog.html file included in the download or the Textbox.io documentation.
For Unix, Linux and AIX server deployments a shell script is provided that automates the majority of the deployment process.
For Microsoft Windows server deployments a MSI package is provided that automates the majority of the deployment process. A set of manual installation steps is also included. Ephox Editors for Connections ships with Textbox.io services for spell-checking that require separate installation and configuration.
