Disable Terminal Services before installing, upgrading, or modifying HCL Compass
On Windows™ systems, disable Terminal Services before update, roll back, modify, or uninstall operations.
About this task
When Terminal Services are enabled on Microsoft™ Windows systems, multiple users can connect to the same system in different sessions. In this scenario, other users can continue using the product while another user is attempting to update, modify, roll back, or uninstall the product. These operations can fail if IBM® Installation Manager processes are unable to modify files that are locked because they are being used in another session.
To avoid issues caused by locked files, disable Remote Desktop and log out of all other Windows sessions before attempting to complete the product update, modify, roll back, or uninstall operation. When Remote Desktop is disabled, you cannot reconnect to the server using Remote Desktop. If your Windows session is disconnected, you must either reboot the server or log on directly through the console. If necessary, you can use the Send Message button in the Windows Task Manager to communicate with an Active session before logging off.Procedure
