Using your HCL Compass Web client
HCL Compass Web is a browser-based interface to HCL Compass that runs on Windows, the UNIX system, and Linux. You can track defects and change requests in HCL Compass Web through this interface. When a session times out, you can re-authenticate and continue where you left off because the state of the user interface is retained.
Using records to store change requests
Modifying multiple records
You can perform the same actions on multiple HCL Compass records in a query result set by using the multirecord update feature. For example, you can perform the Assign action to assign many defect records to the same person for the same iteration. You can use multirecord update to set the priority of multiple records to a single value.

You can cancel a multirecord update before or after you record changes on the template record.

You can cancel a multirecord update before or after you record changes on the template record.

To cancel a multirecord update before you record changes on the template record, click the Close icon on the Multi-Record Update tab. The query results tab opens.

To stop recording and discard the changes that you made, click Cancel on the template record. The Multi-Record Update tab remains open so that you can complete another change on the template record. If you click the Close icon on the Multi-Record Update tab to stop recording, a dialog box opens. Click OK to discard the recorded changes and close the Multi-Record Update tab. Click Cancel to continue editing the template record.

If you close the Multi-Record Update tab during a multirecord update, playback is paused and a dialog box opens. Click OK to stop the multirecord update. No further records are updated. Click Cancel to continue with the playback.
