You can set up email notification for HCL Compass Web clients according
to the business rules of your schema.
Before you begin
You must have super user or schema designer privileges.
About this task
To enable email notification for
a HCL Compass Web client:
Procedure
- Log on to the HCL Compass Web client.
- Click .
- On the Site Configuration page, click Email
Options, then enter your email settings.
- Setting
- Description
- Send Active
- Enter 1 to enable e-mail notification; enter 0
to disable it.
- Mail Transport
- Specify SMTP or MAPI depending on your mail transport
type.
MAPI notification is not supported for mixed character-set
environments. For more information, see Supporting a mixed local character set or a UTF-8 multilingual database.
- MAPI Server
- If you are using MAPI, enter the mail server name.
- MAPI Profile
- If you are using MAPI, enter the profile alias
name.
- SMTP Host
- If you are using SMTP, enter the host name.
- Real Names
- Enter your Web server name. If you enter a Web
server name, email messages display the server name in the From field.
If you do not want the server name to be displayed in all email messages,
do not enter anything.
- Reply To
- Enter a generic, reply-to address for this Web
server. This address is displayed in the Reply To field of each email
message. If you leave it blank, no address is displayed.
Attention: HCL Compass Web client Email 1.x
and MAPI support have been deprecated. For enhanced email support, use the EmailPlus 2.1 package.

save your changes.
