Controlling date and time format displayed in result sets

Specify user preferences to control the date and time format displayed in a query result set (on-screen, printed, and exported).

About this task

Note: Settings that you specify through Preferences apply to the current user only. The date and time settings you specify also apply to the history and reference list controls on a record form.

To specify the date and time format displayed in a result set:

Procedure

  1. From the menu, click Preferences.
    The User Preferences window opens.
  2. In the User Preferences window, select the Result tab.
  3. Set the Result set date format to Long Date, Medium Date, or Short Date.
    • Long Date displays Month DD, YYYY HH:MM:SS AM/PM time zone offset where the time zone offset corresponds to the time zone of the current user. (Example: June 15, 2000 12:00:00 AM GMT+08:00)
    • Medium Date displays Mon DD, YYYY HH:MM:SS. (Example: Jun 15, 2000 12:00:00 AM)
    • Short Date displays MM/DD/YY HH:MM AM/PM. (Example: 06/15/00 12:00 AM)
  4. Click Save.
    The properties you set become effective immediately.
