Create the customization in NiFi

This section of the tutorial explains the steps that are required to create the customization in NiFi to index profit margin data.

Prerequisite

Before you can index the profit margin data, you must load a cost price list using the Catalog Filter and Pricing tool.

Process

To index profit margin data, complete the following steps:
  1. Create a connector using the Ingest Service.
  2. Configure the connector created in the previous step using the NiFi user interface.
  3. Build an index and verify that the profit margin field is indexed
  4. Customize the user data field name mapping and search configuration to include custom data using the configuration API.
  5. Register the new field in search tables with the proper property names.
  6. Modify the store to display the profit margin only in store preview

Test the customization

Test the customization by using profit margin as the criteria for defining a Web Activity rule for displaying dynamic product recommendations.
