What's new in the 26.07.22 release
The first release of Commerce+ Transaction Server adds Solr support and modernizes the software stack with Open Liberty, JDK 21, and streamlined tooling. Migration from Commerce+ version 9.1.20.0 or later is supported.
Important changes
Feature enhancements
- Migration
- Migrate an existing HCL Commerce version 9.1.20.0 or later environment to Commerce+.
- Search
- Commerce+ introduces Search to simplify modernization from legacy Solr infrastructure. This capability preserves existing search APIs, indexing workflows, and marketing rules to maintain continuous storefront and management operations. It also expands platform compatibility to PostgreSQL and replaces legacy runtime components dependent on IBM with open standards (such as Open Liberty) to lower total infrastructure costs.
- Deployment
-
- Kubernetes Gateway API support
-
HCL Commerce+ now uses the Kubernetes Gateway API instead of the traditional Ingress API for application networking. The Gateway API provides a more flexible, scalable, and Kubernetes-native networking model by separating infrastructure management from application routing. Platform administrators can centrally manage shared gateways, while application teams define routing behaviour by using resources such as
HTTPRoute. It also supports advanced traffic management capabilities, including header-based and path-based routing, traffic splitting, request mirroring, and redirects.
- SDKs
-
- Modern development environment
-
HCL Commerce+ replaces the legacy HCL Commerce+ 9.1 RAD-based development toolkit with a modern SDK that supports industry-standard IDEs such as Visual Studio Code, Eclipse, and IntelliJ IDEA. These IDEs include support for AI-powered coding assistants that provide intelligent code completion, code generation, refactoring suggestions, and automated documentation. Combined with integration for Git, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native development tools, the new development environment provides a faster and more productive developer experience.
- Store
-
- Remote storefront toolkit
- Use the HCL Commerce+ remote storefront development kit to create a local development environment for customizing and testing the HCL Commerce+ remote storefront.
