Troubleshooting: “View Name could not be fetched” error in Store Preview

This document provides the steps to address the CRS store registry related issue at startup.

Problem

While accessing or previewing your storefront, you may see the following error message: "This View Name could not be fetched. Please check if the URL is correct". This typically occurs after a server restart or during initial environment startup.

Pre-requisites

You must have access to the Site Administrator console privileges to update the store registries.

Solution

The issue can be fixed by updating the store registry and, if required, restarting the store container.

  1. Reload the Store Registry.
    1. Open the Site Administration Console.
    2. Navigate to Configuration > Registry.
    3. Update the following entries:
      1. StoreConfigurationRegistry
      2. Store
    4. Save the changes.

This refreshes the store configuration and clears the invalid registry state.

Restart the store container (if the issue continues). If reloading the registry does not immediately resolve the issue:
  1. Restart the store container.
  2. Wait for the container to fully start.
  3. Access the storefront again.
Once restarted, the store should load correctly.
