Order locks
An order lock prevents multiple users from editing an order at the same time.
When the first user
starts to edit an order,
the order is locked. If other
users try to edit that same order, they receive a message to indicate
that
they cannot edit the order. For example: Order 188,001 is
not locked
by you. Some other user may have taken over the lock.
When
the first
user finishes editing the order, the lock is released. The following
scenario
shows how the order lock feature is commonly used:
- CSR A logs on to the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator and edits an order.
- CSR B logs on to the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator and tries
to edit
the order that CSR A is currently editing. The following message is
displayed:
This order may be currently edited by other user. Do you want to process it anyway?
- CSR B clicks OK and edits the order.
- CSR A finishes editing the order and submits
the order. The following
message is displayed:
Order order_id is locked. Access is denied.
