Configuring Visual Studio Code

Configure Visual Studio Code to connect to the MCP Server for Vulnerability Remediation over the streamable HTTP MCP endpoint.

Procedure

  1. Add a .vscode/mcp.json file to the client workspace.

  2. Run MCP: List Servers from the Command Palette.
  3. Start or restart bes-mcp-fixlet-gen.
  4. Supply the BigFix token when prompted.
  5. Open Chat in Agent mode and confirm that three tools are available.
    Important:
    Do not store the token directly in mcp.json or config.yaml.
