        Run the Task: Deploy And Monitor Endpoint from the BigFix Console to deploy BigFix Application Control on managed Windows endpoints. The task executes a three-phase process: installing prerequisite files (.NET 8 SDK, Process Monitor Service, and Notification Utility), creating and configuring the BESBAC Windows service with a default-deny effective_policy.json policy, and activating a BAC Monitoring Service that checks and restarts the solution every five minutes.

      After installing BigFix Application Control, configure and manage the solution from the BigFix Console to maintain endpoint security. Post-installation management includes setting the application control mode, managing application allowlists (adding and removing applications), configuring exception request policies, setting up ServiceNow™ update sets for ticket integration, viewing the effective policy applied to endpoints, and removing the solution from endpoints when required.

Installing and Monitoring BigFix Application Control

Install BigFix Application Control on managed Windows endpoints in two steps using the BigFix Console: first, run the identification Fixlet to find endpoints that do not yet have Application Control installed; second, execute the installer task on those endpoints to deploy the solution. After deployment, monitor endpoint status to confirm successful installation across your environment.

You can perform the installation of BigFix Application Controlon managed endpoints in two steps by running the specific Fixlets and tasks from the BigFix Console:

Identify unconfigured endpoints — Run the identification Fixlet to find all endpoints in your environment that do not yet have Application Control installed. See Identify Endpoints Not Configured for BigFix Application Control.
Deploy the installer task — Run the installer task for BigFix Application Control on the desired endpoints to deploy the solution. See Deploy and Monitor Endpoints Using BigFix Application Control.

After deployment, monitor the endpoint status from the BigFix Console to verify that Application Control has been successfully installed across all target endpoints.
