Disks and Partitions
BigFix Scanner Service gathers detailed System Information from endpoints.
BigFix Scanner Service collects and updates information related to the Direct Attached Storage (DAS) drives for a given endpoint device.
BigFix Scanner Service has two main objects:
- Disk—It represents a Direct Attached Storage Drive (physical), which can be
consumed by the end user. Drives attached through the network, such as NFS or
cloud based drives such as Google Drive or OneDrive, are not included.
- Name
- Size: total size of the disk, in bytes
- Removable: whether the disk is removable or not
- Drive type (i.e. SSD etc.)
- Manufacturer
- Model
- Serial number
- Partition—It represents a logical section of the storage system which is
formatted and ready to use. System and Recovery partitions are not included.
- Name
- Mount point
- File system type
- Size: total size of the partition, in bytes
- Disk ID: internal link to the information about the disk on which the partition is mounted
