Apple WiFi Example Template

You can manage WiFi configuration on Apple devices through a policy. Read this section to learn how to create a custom Apple WiFi policy using a template from WebUI.

About this task

To create a custom WiFi policy from the Apple WiFi template, complete the following steps:
  1. From the WebUI select Apps > MCM
  2. The WebUI MCM dashboard appears. Click Create Policy.
  3. From the list of available policy options, select Custom from Template.
  4. On the General Settings page, do the following:
    1. Enter Policy Name and Description.
    2. For Operating System, select macOS or iOS / iPadOS as applicable.
    3. From the Assign Policy to Site drop-down, select a site to assign the policy.
    4. In the Templated Policy section, under Select a Policy from Template drop-down, select Apple WIFI Example Template and edit the necessary parameters.
      Note: Fill in all the placeholder information with either a specific value or a choice from those listed.
      • The %% in the template indicates placeholder for data that you must fill in.
      • The | (Vertical Bar) indicates the choices available for a parameter that you can choose from.

    5. Click Save to save the Apple custom WiFi policy.

What to do next

Add the saved WiFi policy to a Policy Groups for macOS or iOS / iPadOS and deploy as necessary. Once this WiFi policy is deployed on to an MDM enrolled Apple device, the Wi-Fi settings are automatically configured on the device as per the policy.
