Updating and validating the configuration file

You can update and validate the configuration.

About this task

Note: Configuration-file changes remove all data that is associated with the current data flow configuration (from which a hash is generated). Additionally, all data that is not associated with existing data flow configurations are removed. For more information, see the PurgeFindingsOnExecutionOfDataflow setting.

Updating the configuration file

Procedure

Log in to the target server.
Go to the product installation directory.
Open the DataFlowsConfig.xml file in a text editor.
Update configuration. For more information, see Configuration Settings.

Validating the configuration file

Procedure

Open (Command Line Interface) and run the BFIVR.exe --ValidateConfiguration command.
Restart to import the new configuration. On successful completion, the message, Configuration verified successfully appears.
