Asset groups
Asset groups represent abstract components of your organization, like "Finance" or "Engineering." Administrators can restrict access to specific applications by assigning them to an asset group and limiting the users who belong in the group.
An application must belong to one and only one asset group. An asset group can own many applications.
Individual users can see applications and issues based on the asset groups they belong to.
Trending charts in the dashboard display only data that is related to the apps that are owned
by a group the user belongs to. A user can change the owner group property of an application
if they are changing it to a group they belong to, or if they are an administrator.
- An administrator can create asset groups and move the applications and users around to where they belong.
- If you want to remove an asset group, you must remove the users and applications from it first. You will need to assign the applications to other asset groups.
- If a user is not assigned to an asset group, they cannot create, edit, or view applications in the group.
- The page indicates the number of applications and users that belong to each asset group.
- Administrators belong to all asset groups. They are identified as admins and included in the user count for each asset group.
- When creating an application, you can associate it with an existing asset group that you belong to, or create a new asset group for it.
