  - Data Export overview
    Unica Discover Data Export provides you with the ability to analyze and report on data captured by Discover within various third-party solutions, including custom reporting tools and databases, warehouses, business intelligence environments, and web analytics products. Additionally, Unica Discover Data Export enables the creation of a persistent store of session data from your web applications.

        Running the Data Export for Data Analysis installer
        The Installer must be run on the Portal Server and any server where Unica Discover Data Export software must be installed.
        Running the Data Export for Data Analysis Upgrader
        Preparing a directory for log or data file extraction
        Unica Discover Data Export allows you to select a destination directory for extracted log files or data files. If you want to segment a specific area of the local machine or a remote connected machine, you can create these directories for later use.
    - Configuring events for Data Export
      In order for events and their data to be made available for export through Unica Discover Data Export, the Searchable and Reportable check box must be selected in the event definition in the Event Manager. This setting must be selected for each event that you want to export through Unica Discover Data Export.
    - Configuration for the data files option
      To use the data files options, you must customize a set of provided scripts to create a set of database tables to receive the outputted database files and to insert data into the databases.
    - Initial Data Export configuration
      It is necessary to perform configurations of your Unica Discover deployment. Depending on your Discover solution deployment, more configuration might be necessary.

    Unica Discover Data Export enables flexible export and fluid integration of Discover session data to any external business application to create multi-channel perspectives of your visitors' experience.

Deployment options

Instructions for running the installer for Unica Discover Data Export based on the following Discover deployments: All-in-One, Multi-Server installing on the Portal Server, or Multi-Server installing on a dedicated server.

Depending on your Discover deployment, you must run the Installer for Unica Discover Data Export according to the following options:

All-in-One: If your Discover solution is an All-in-One server, run the Installer once on the server.
Multi-Server, installing on the Portal Server: If you are installing Unica Discover Data Export on the Portal Server, run the Installer once on the Portal Server.
Note: Discover recommends avoiding installation of Unica Discover Data Export on a server with other Discover components. If possible, Unica Discover Data Export should be installed on a dedicated server.
Multi-Server, installing on a dedicated Unica Discover Data Export Server: Run the Installer once on the Portal Server. Then, run the Installer once on the Unica Discover Data Export Server.
Note: This deployment model requires more steps.
