Managing access control lists

Use the HCL Universal Orchestrator UI to grant permissions to users and groups by configuring access control lists (ACLs).

Before you begin

  • You must have tenant administrator privileges.
  • The users or groups you intend to authorize must already exist in the organization's central identity provider.

About this task

You manage permissions by associating specific roles with user or group identities.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the HCL Universal Orchestrator UI.
  2. In the navigation menu, select Security > Access control list.
  3. Click Add new.
  4. In the General information section, configure the access details:
    1. From the Type list, select the scope of the access control (for example, Admin or Folder).
If you select Folder, a Folder field appears. Enter the resource path requiring access.
    2. From the Identity type list, select User or Group.
    3. In the User ID or group field, enter the unique identifier for the identity.
    4. From the Roles list, select one or more roles to assign to this identity.
  5. Click Save to apply the access control rule.

What to do next

Verify that the authorized user can access the specific resources defined by their assigned role.
