Installation requirements

This section describes the host and client requirements for HCL Z Data Tools plug-in for Eclipse.

Host requirements

HCL Z Data Tools V16.1.4 or later plug-in for Eclipse requires a supported version of Z Data Tools.

The ZCC server 16.1.0 or later needs to be configured for the client to communicate with the host system. See Customizing the ZCC server.

Client requirements

IBM Explorer for z/OS V3.4.0 or later or IBM Developer for z/OS V17 or later (Aqua 3.4)

Note:

To get the most up-to-date information on supported operating systems, detailed system requirements, and hardware requirements, you can generate a dynamic software product compatibility report.

  1. Go to the Software Product Compatibility Reports page.
  2. Type the product name in the Search by product name field and click the product name in the list.
  3. In the search results, select a release.

The system requirements of your workstation depend on the target environment where you are installing the Z Data Tools plug-in. Refer to the respective system requirements page of your target environment for more information.
