Defining workstations for end-to-end scheduling
About this task
Scheduling in an end-to-end environment means that in HCL Workload Automation for Z you are scheduling and monitoring jobs that are physically running on HCL Workload Automation workstations. For the agents supported in the z/OS environment, see Supported agent workstations.
- Extended agents
Extended agent workstations must be defined as fault-tolerant workstations in HCL Workload Automation for Z.
A fault-tolerant workstation is the HCL Workload Automation for Z definition of an existing HCL Workload Automation agent in the distributed network. The HCL Workload Automation agent is where the job associated with the fault-tolerant workstation actually runs in the distributed network.
To define the extended agent workstation in HCL Workload Automation for Z, you must:- Define the workstation in the
CPUREC
initialization statement. For an example, see Creating the CPUREC statement for extended agents. - Add the same workstation definition to the database using ISPF or the Dynamic Workload Console. For a description of how to define the workstation using the Dynamic Workload Console, see Dynamic Workload Console User's Guide. For an example, see Defining the workstation with ISPF.
