Before you begin

You must be connected to an HCL VersionVault server to request branch mastership.

Procedure

To request branch mastership from the VersionVault Version Tree:

Right-click the VersionVault element and select Show Version Tree from the context menu.
In the VersionVault Version Tree, right-click the branch that is mastered remotely and select Request Mastership.

Results

The user receives notification that mastership has been requested and then, once the local replica has imported the packet, the user receives notice that mastership has been granted. Once mastership has been granted locally, the user should refresh the version tree before performing the check out or check in operation that required branch mastership.
