Synopsis
- rmvob [ –f/orce ] vob-storage-dir-pname ...
Description
The rmvob command deletes one or more VOB storage directories. Confirmation for each VOB is required, unless you use the –force option. In addition to removing the VOB storage directory, rmvob removes all relevant entries from the network's VOB registry. However, rmvob does not unmount the VOBs.
Procedures for removing VOBs
To remove a nonreplicated VOB, follow the procedure in the Help. To remove a replicated VOB, follow the procedure in the Help. rmvob fails if the VOB replica masters any objects, unless you specify the –force option.
Restrictions
Identities
You must have one of the following identities:
- VOB owner
- root (UNIX and Linux)
- Member of the VersionVault administrators group (VersionVault on Windows)
Locks
No locks apply.
Mastership
(Replicated VOBs only) No mastership restrictions.
Options and arguments
- –f/orce
- Suppresses the confirmation step. If the VOB is replicated, this option allows rmvob to remove the VOB storage directory even if the replica masters any objects.
- vob-storage-dir-pname ...
- The pathnames of one or more VOB storage directories to be removed.
Examples
The UNIX system and Linux examples in this section are written for use in csh. If you use another shell, you might need to use different quoting and escaping conventions.
The Windows examples that include wildcards or quoting are written for use in cleartool interactive mode. If you use cleartool single-command mode, you might need to change the wildcards and quoting to make your command interpreter process the command appropriately.
In cleartool single-command mode, cmd-context represents the UNIX system and Linux shells or Windows command interpreter prompt, followed by the cleartool command. In cleartool interactive mode, cmd-context represents the interactive cleartool prompt.
