VersionVault version properties
Use the HCL VersionVault Version properties page to view or edit properties of a file or directory version in a VersionVault view.
A version is a specific revision of a file or directory under VersionVault control. Each time you check in a file or directory, you create a new version. VersionVault uses a version-extended path name to distinguish each version. Usually, a version-extended path name appends @@/branch-name/version-number to the path name of the file system object. This path name is displayed in the title area of the Version Properties dialog box. For a checked-out version, the version-number is always CHECKEDOUT.
Changes are applied when focus is removed from the item being changed. For example: a Description field is modified by typing new text or changing existing text. As soon as focus is moved away from the Description field, the change is applied. Clicking anywhere outside the Description field is sufficient to move focus and apply the change. Clicking the OK button is another way to move focus and to apply any changes.
Version general properties
The General tab of the VersionVault Version properties page displays the following information about the selected element:

| Created on | The date and time when the version was loaded into the view. |
| Created by | The name of the VersionVault user who created the version, in the form user_id.group_id |
| Description | The checkin or checkout comment associated with this version. |
| Predecessor | The branch and version number of the predecessor version. |
| In view (Does not appear for versions that are not checked out.) | The view tag of the VersionVault view to which the version is checked out. |
| Reserved (Does not appear for versions that are not checked out.) | Selected if the checkout is reserved. Clear this check box to change the checkout to an unreserved checkout. |
| Activity | (UCM views only.) The UCM activity headline with which the version is associated. |
Version labels
The Labels tab of the VersionVault Version properties page lists VersionVault labels that have been applied to the selected version.
Version custom properties
The Custom tab of the VersionVault Version properties page displays the following information about the selected versions:
