Upgrade notes for VersionVault on Windows™

Before upgrading HCL VersionVault, review known issues and limitations, gather required information, and complete any necessary system configuration changes.

Review the release notes document provided with the product to learn about any known problems or limitations that are related to installation and upgrade.
When you plan an upgrade, make a backup of the data in the C:\Program Files\HCL\CCM\VersionVault\var\rgy directory of the registry server.
Before you upgrade your license server, copy your license key string to a text file. When you install your new license server, copy the license key string from the text file.
When you upgrade your registry server, you must set your registry password. See Setting and using the HCL VersionVault registry password.
If you plan to host ACL-enabled VOBs, see Planning support for ACL-enabled VOBs and VOB objects for information about preparing the VersionVault environment to enable and enforce ACL authorization of VOBs and VOB objects.
On Windows systems, disable terminal services before upgrading server components to prevent users from accessing server resources during the upgrade process.
