Upgrade notes for VersionVault on Windows™
Before upgrading HCL VersionVault, review known issues and limitations, gather required information, and complete any necessary system configuration changes.
- Review the release notes document provided with the product to learn about any known problems or limitations that are related to installation and upgrade.
- When you plan an upgrade, make a backup of the data in the C:\Program Files\HCL\CCM\VersionVault\var\rgy directory of the registry server.
- Before you upgrade your license server, copy your license key string to a text file. When you install your new license server, copy the license key string from the text file.
- When you upgrade your registry server, you must set your registry password. See Setting and using the HCL VersionVault registry password.
- If you plan to host ACL-enabled VOBs, see Planning support for ACL-enabled VOBs and VOB objects for information about preparing the VersionVault environment to enable and enforce ACL authorization of VOBs and VOB objects.
- On Windows systems, disable terminal services before upgrading server components to prevent users from accessing server resources during the upgrade process.
