Physical media
You can create packets as files, write them to a CD, magnetic tape, or diskette, and then send the media to another site. The mkreplica and syncreplica commands include the –out option, which places packets in physical files.
When you use a file-based transport method, you may need to use the –maxsize option to ensure that the file is a manageable size. In this example, the administrator writes the replica-creation packet to a CD, using the –maxsize option. For a command line example, see MAN PAGE.
